LAST EDITED ON Oct-23-16 AT 10:47AM (MST)[p]Not new to the extended but I am for the salt lake area. I have onxmaps and downloaded the extended area for salt lake and overlaid it in onx. Just curious how youre supposed to know what you can and cannot hunt around the ski areas? DNR map doesnt show it and onxmaps doesnt show it.

The other thing Im not getting is where rifle can hunt and where it is archery only? Is it just the emigration canyon that is archery only? I realize its only for a week but would like for future hunts.

Normally if it says its public land then you can hunt it but some of those ski areas lease the land they are on. I bet they can't restrict access to anyone. There is a reason they sell "lift passes" and not trespass permits etc. But I'm only commenting on this because I'm bored and have no idea what is legal and what is not. Good luck and let us know what you end up finding out.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-24-16 AT 10:09AM (MST)[p]meatinthepot, I know for a fact you can't hunt PC mountain resort and the canyons and deer valley I would assume is off limits. Alta is a no go because it's a township. Emigration is archery only. I believe any of the others would be archery only.

The proclamation states that any hunting in SL County south of I80 and E of I15 is Archery only for buck deer and bull elk. I'm interested in the ski areas as well.

Everything west of the pass will result in loss of hunting privileges and possible jail time. Hunting there sucks anyways because of all the tree huggers on the resorts. There one around every corner and they scare all the animals off.
