LAST EDITED ON Dec-02-16 AT 11:41AM (MST)[p]So I go to apply for turkey again with my 8 points, and I see that all but one Turkey CWMU have been removed from the applications. What in the heck do I do with 8 points now? I only have one option and that one is going to get flooded quick with applicants.

This sucks

Take your 8 points and use them to apply with someone in a "normal" unit. Go have a blast!
Zeke

8 points for turkey is nucking Futs. You could have drawn multiple early tags and killed the same quality bird.

Hey HJB!

You wanna put in as a Group?

I Have 7 Points!:D

For Once the Odds should be in Our Favor!

booty is gonna be Mad When We Pull the Coveted Tag!:D:D:D

Now that's^^^ funny!
Cat, I was suggesting to team up with someone who had zero (0) points and they'd both draw... not someone who would make it 15 total points for a bird!

Come on HJB, I think boot is right.

Zeke

Ha ha ha ya you two team up! 15 points should draw you a great early season general tag.
I will just buy an OTC and take your sloppy seconds. ;)

I know, it's ridiculous! I don't give a rats butt about turkeys or turkey hunting. I just wanted one bird under my belt for fun and some deep fried goodness. Once I got about 3-4 points, I figured I should cash them on a CWMU since I had a few points built up. However, I couldn't draw a dang tag! Now I'm here at 8 points wondering how in the world I got here. There's way too many sheds to pick up to be concerned about a big fat bird. On the other hand, do I waste my 8 points and $80 o application fees on a general hunt to hang out boot and all his die hard turkey buddies? Or do I wait and drive up to Croydon and pick the longest beard in the bunch and be done with it.

Maybe if I get to 10 points I can exchange them for a deer point.

Yes you can. Or maybe it's like other Sates where you can shoot a lesser animal on a different tag... like kill a lowly deer on a turkey tag. (I'll let you try it out first. haha)

Okay back to reality: DON'T go general season but rather go LE regional and grab a kid with zero points and apply as a group, draw tags, hunt and kill a big bird each. BLAM! Done!

See, you can actually hunt AND help out someone at the same time!

Zeke

The biggest deer sheds I have found was turkey hunting. If you want a easy turkey shoot hold out for lost creek.
I have killed one turkey and really have no desire to kill another. If they grew antlers, I'd be all over it. :)

Oh yes. You mean the time I had a big Tom at 20 yards and just as I drew back to shoot it with my bow, you ##### blocked me and toasted it with your Shotgun. :(

Hey Travis?

How Many South Slope Birds has booty made Camp Meat out of?

That's what I have been doing, but apparently it's pretty hard to draw. I put in for it every year.

That's actually a really good plan Zeke. If I don't draw the CWMU this year, I'll plan on that next year for sure.

Well HJB,
I hope you draw if that's the tag you want but if you don't draw this year you can make someone really happy next year.
Kepp us posted and show us some success pics after the hunt.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-16-16 AT 04:23PM (MST)[p]Don't feel too bad...I'll have 10 points after this year and my ole' man will have 13!

I have a buddy up the street from me and I really considered sharing my 7 pts with him and his daughter so she could enjoy a turkey hunt.

I need to reach out to him

LAST EDITED ON Dec-17-16 AT 05:49PM (MST)[p]Ok I have 5 points and my buddy has 2 points I am sure they still round down when you put in together? So that gives us 3 points going in right? I haven't put in as a group for awhile so just making sure what our odds are if anybody knows Thanks. :D
