Pine valley elk

Does anyone have any idea where the elk winter on the pine valley unit?

Nevada ? I am out there all of the time. I have only seen them twice. Not many to find . Tough to hunt. Best luck is to catch them coming over from Neveda when they are pushed from the Nevada side.

bigjohnt do all the deer move over to nevada during the general deer season,mostly the good ones I guess,just wondering about that thanks

I found a couple caresses on BLM near Enterprise towards the lake if you still have a hunt later. Found them while I was scouting for deer and they were all cows.

I would suspect we need a lot more snow to get them there in any huntable numbers.

A few years ago. They shot a few cows in the hills west of Pinto. The thing is I have heard they are only 25 head of elk on the unit. Some say 50. Not counting the one that come over from Neveda. I know a 12 year old boy kill a 6x6 this year . But I believe it came over from the state line. If I could find them out there consently I would hunt them. It's just to much of a hit and miss. I have hunted them in the New Harmony area 20 years ago. Until they killed off the herd and pushed them over the mountain.
