After many years of hunting around the Enterprise area and a few elk trips out of Manila, my Dad and I have finally drawn NR muzzleloader tags and will be using 3 weeks of vacation to have plenty of time to scout and get the "lay of the land". Have been looking at maps, google earth and reading every Books post I can ( along with all the other awesome stories posted here. I have 2 questions if anybody has some info to share. #1..Now that the Seeps Road is paved is it doable to make the drive in and out to the Divide every day if we don't set up a camp? #2 We gave quads but will they be worth the trouble of hauling them 15 hrs to the Books. Have my trusty Chevy 4x4 and not afraid of burning shoe leather. Any opinions are appreaciated. Thanks guys

It's Big Country & I Wouldn't Drive Back & Forth Every Day!

That Could Be 4 More Hours a Day Of Rest!

Even Though I Don't Like Them,Yes If I Were You I'd Bring Your Wheelers,Why Not,Everybodyelse will Have Theirs!

Thanks elkassissan. Yea I did'nt want to be part of the circus unless I had to. Is it that bad during whole 9 days? Looking at some of the posts sounds like the crowds thin out some after the weekend.

For Sure a Few will Thin out as the Hunt Goes on!

As Soon as everyone Realizes not everybody is gonna get a 400" Bull they'll Start Smacking Bulls that are not Quite that Big!

There Will Be a Few Dandies Taken, there is every year!

The Spike Slaughters are gonna start showing on this Unit real Soon!

Best of Luck!

Make sure you take lots of Fuel & Make sure your Spare Tires are Aired up!

The Main/Paved Road will save quite a few Flats!

Good Luck & We'll be Hoping to see some Pics this Fall!

MY Bad!

Thought you were Talkin Elk!

It's a Migratory Herd!

Most Years they will be in Transition on the Muzz Hunt Depending on Weather!

Lot's of Thick PJ!

You Might Still Catch a Few Bucks High!

But I'd definitely get there a few days before Season & Get a Feel for where the Deer are!

Thanks Elk Assassin...gonna try to get there 4-5 days early. Waited this long to get the tag so we wanna make the most of it! Looking forward to seeing some awesome country and lots of animals.

How many points did you have, and are you a resident or non-resident? My buddy and I put in for this hunt too, with 16 & 15 points respectively and didn't pull tags. I thought for sure that this was our year.

Good luck, you're sure to get some good advice on this unit around here, and keep us posted on how your hunt goes. You never know, I may be seeking advice from you next year.

Bummer for you guys. We had 15 NR points also. Hopefully we will have some pictures to post of happy hunters. Will definitely share any info we learn from our trip with you!

I would camp out and not ride in and out each day. You can haul a toybox type trailer up there pretty easy and camp off the pavement. Seep Ridge, Indian Ridge, McCook Ridge all have deer, and roads/trails up on them. Bucks are pretty spread out they will be where you find them during ML season.
Best put the one you find the night before season to BED that night at dark and then next morning be in close enough to find and hunt him.
Good luck.
