Congrats on the tag never hunted elk there but hunted bear and the elk were everywhere I would glass and set up camrea by water. Should be a great time.

Can't go wrong sitting on the rock pile. It will be crazy for a few days, but you sure can see a ton of country and bulls from that single spot.

There won't be too many in there during the summer, but they will show up once the rut gets going. It is a big unit and most of the bulls move quite a bit. You will have a blast.

Like utah450 said the rock pile is a great vantage point if you decide to hunt the Blues. If you go over to the ridge you have , places like Davis pocket, North long, Maverick point and the Oak patch just to name a few. Im guessing you drew the early rifle with that many points.

I have hunted deer during the muzzle loader hunt down there. We saw more bulls than we did bucks. It was absolutely awesome. You will have a fantastic time, and hopefully kill a real trophy.

im not sure what is and isnt closed with all the bears ears closures but we hunted there up on top a few years ago. look around Kigalia point. also dont overlook the flat country with thick cedars

Take the trail across from wagon wheel and park by the fence you got a few good areas to look at from there.
Back road from Monticello to Blanding couple of dozen spots along there.
road to towers several spots to glass from
Aspen flats
Robertson Pasture
Shay Mountain
face of South Peak
Rock pile
Rocking chair.
North of the towers
ETC
Don't know to many bad ones.
