Beaver, Utah general unit

I have decent odds of drawing the beaver unit general season next year but I have enough points I could also go for a different unit as well. My question is has anyone hunted this unit and what can you expect from this unit the general rifle unit that is . I will actually go out and scout once I draw the tag or whatever tag I decide on . I'm just curious if others experience as well as class of bucks in this unit ? Thank you

If you can hunt straight up and can handle the 10,500 ft elevations, with enough scouting time, you can find mature mule deer to hunt on the Beaver unit. If you are good and you are lucky you may even kill one. Hunters kill a few mature bucks on the Beaver every year.

It is managed by the State for maximun recreational opportunity deer huntung.

I'm pretty young and in good shape I feel I could, but I would have thought it was a better general unit because it takes two or three points to draw . What is considered a mature buck in that unit ?

Also is there other units you guys suggest ? That I can look into and research as well ?

Going high on the Beaver unit is really not the only way to get an ok buck. Just took a drive yesterday evening through some of my favorite lower country on the Beaver unit. Saw plenty of deer, tons of fauns, close to half the deer I saw were bucks. A handful of 2year old bucks and a couple of older ones.
