Late Cow Elk. Plateau East

Normally hunthe late cow elk with my sons over on fish lake but applied for the wrong unit! I have a 12 year old that is a bit disappointed in me and I'm hoping to round up a bit of information for this late hunt, any help/info appreciated. Thanks

Which tag did you draw ? Is it the EA1079 tag ? If so that is still the Fish lake area. Just east of Seven mile road. That unit has a 80% success rate. Also another benefit to getting the late hunt is your can buy a spike tag. With the spike tag you can shoot a cow in your cow area while hunting spikes. When the cold weather hits it pushes the elk down lower and you hunt down low. It's a great tag and should help you get some elk in the freezer. Have a great hunt !

It's the 1075, pretty much takes in the entire Boulder unit, shouldn't be too tough to find a wintering pod of elk but figured I'd check with you guys and get a feel for the unit and some pointers for the unit.

Thats a tough unit. You need to be there when and if the elk move down. Not a lot of access . But if you get enough snow this year. Your best bet maybe to take a snowmobile in to get to the elk. Good luck !
