Lost Zeiss Night Owl Binoculars

On Monday, October 23rd, while hunting up Spanish Fork Canyon in the Sheep Creek area, I lost a pair of Zeiss Night Owl Binoculars on the road heading to Indian Canyon and Strawberry. I mistakenly set them on the hood of our jeep, forgot about them, and off we went for home. These binoculars have a lot of sentimental value to our family. They belonged to my late Grandfather. I have many, many memories of him using these binoculars as we went on countless numbers of hunting trips. I am asking that if anyone found these binoculars on the roadside, again up Sheep Creek in Spanish Fork Canyon, to please contact me. I am offering a cash reward of $200, no questions asked, for the safe return of these binoculars. I have the serial number to prove that they are the binoculars we are looking for. We would love to have them back in the family and are hoping that someone found them and is looking to help us out. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Were you on a dirt road or pavement, if it's dirt there's a chance a hunter found them if Pavement that might be another story.

We were on the dirt road, a couple of miles in headed towards Indian Canyon. There is a large field like parking lot/campground on the left hand side of the road. I found the hat the glasses were sitting on on the side of the road about half a mile before the parking lot/campground, so I know that someone found the glasses and hat and left the hat behind. Now we are just hoping that they will find us and return our late Grandpa's binoculars. Thank you for your positive comments and any help you can give us.

So there is a happy ending to this last few days. We received a call from a man in Mapleton who said that they had found my grandpa's glasses Monday evening and were wondering how to find the owners. They went back up the same canyon this evening, saw the signs that we had posted, and gave us a call. I just got back from picking them up! I can't even tell you how amazed and relived I am. These amazing gentlemen wouldn't even take the reward money. They simply said that knowing that the glasses were back in right hands and that we would be able to continue to make memories with them was all that they needed. I will sure sleep better tonight. Thank you again! My faith and belief that there are still good honest people out there has been strengthened.

Congrats on your grandpas glass. I did the same thing as you but I never found mine.They were not Ziess only Nikon. But now I have Ziess and the first thing I did was bought the Badlands binocular case and I hooked up the cords inside case to the binoculars . So this doesn't ever happen again.Just a suggestion you might think about .

That's great I am so happy for you guys. That's why I said if it's on a dirt road then maybe a hunter will find them. Sounds like you got lucky and found one of those guys.
