15 Res Elk Points

I know we still have a month or so until Apps open but after applying for 15 years it's never too early to start thinking about next year. I've got 15 resident points for elk just looking for some advice on units. I've been thinking about holding for San Juan archery or cashing in for Manti early Rifle or Bookcliffs South Muzzy. Also hunted LaSal Rifle with my brother 2 years ago, would consider that tag as well. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

This may sound like a dumb question, but what weapon do you prefer the most? Three different hunts with three different weapons is quite the variety.

I would go with the area you are most familiar with. If it were me I would hunt the Manti early rifle, but it takes 16 points to draw.

all three are good choices. I am partial to the book cliffs muzzy, but its the area I know best.

I agree with Vanilla. Choose what weapon you want to do this hunt with and go from there. After 15 years of points why compromise and take whatever hunt you get when you are so close to the hunt your dreaming of. I'm not saying everyone should keep going until they draw a Henry Mountains any weapon deer tag because many of us will die before that happens. Lots of good advice has been posted. Think about what hunt will be the most rewarding for you.
