I hate asking, but I have 10 non res points burning a hole in my pocket...

What could a guy expect with a muzzy tag (elk) in my pocket? I dont care about inches, i will hunt hard....is it crazy with all the tags given?

Are you kidding? A muzzleloader elk tag on the manti would be an awesome hunt. Manti is one of the best elk units in the state right now, and seems to be one of few that is getting better. 310-340 is very realistic, and they tip over 360+ bulls every year.

Grown up hunting, camping, fishing there.

That would be my last choice of the weapons to use there. Your usually there with all the muzzy deer hunters. A lot of guys on the mtn that time of year. Always seems like a harder hunt than the other options.

I did the late 7 yrs ago. In-laws did it twice. Practically had the whole mtn to ourselves. Definitely not true last week of Sept.

Good point on the muzzy deer hunting...i would have a much better time hunting for a lesser bull, if it meant not dealing with dudes running all over the place.

Locating a bull is sure nice that time of the year though.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-08-18 AT 06:28PM (MST)[p]I have 13 NR points, and that would not get one of the high point tags for any Manti season. Both muzzy and late took 15 points to for sure draw, and they have been going up every year. :-( But there is always a chance!
