I read a lot of the fourms on this site and have picked up some great information, However I have not seen anything about Bonus Permits with a Resident and Non Resident on the same application.
Question: I'm a Utah resident with 12 Bonus points. My hunting buddy has moved out of state and is NON Resident with 13 Bonus points. We are looking at applying for Book Cliffs or Vernon Muzzleloader. With the draw results from last year I'm almost a lock for a Bonus Permit in both units. We didn't apply (for permits) last year because I deployed with the military. I'll be back home this year and really want to chase deer this fall.
My hunting partner at 13 Bonus points is very close to a Non Resident Bonus Permit.
The question is if we apply as a group and I'm in the pool of Bonus Permits will we both get the bonus permit? I know the Book Cliffs has double the Non Resident permits the Vernon does and I believe it will be a more enjoyable hunt.
Would it make a difference which one of us submits the drawing application? Both of us will also be submitting for other hunts (I have 16 Goat points)and we know it must all be done at the same time.
Any hard facts about the DWR rules would be helpful. I know the drawing order and if you are drawn for deer our once in a lifetime are out of play.
Any strategy or good advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
