19 non resident elk points, now what? Really would like an early rifle hunt, but I am open to other choices. Can;t shoot archery, torn shoulder tendon. Top rut has me possible having enough points for early Manti or Dutton. Will go guided. Should I continue to hold out for a few more years or is those two choices of mine good. I would like a chance at a respectable 350+. Filmore late?

Given the thousands of NR hunters that have bee banking points, I don't think waiting a few years is going to change your odds much at all. I'd cash in now if you can.

You may want to contact some good guides and get their take on different units.

Like Bighorn said I wouldn't wait,if you can draw a early Manti I would jump on it Some guys might argue with me about the late hunts. I wouldn't wast points on a late hunt. The weather can be horrible and a lot of bulls are broke. And if you don't know the area they can be hard as hell to find. You have to know where these bulls go after the rut.

You're getting into the range of many good options. I would consider the type of hunt you're looking for. What type terrain do you want to hunt? What methods do you want to use? What ranges do you feel comfortable shooting with what weapons?

You're getting in the mix of drawing some of the Book Cliffs tags. If this is a unit that interests you, we would be happy to answer any questions you have. Looking at odds you should be able to draw a late tag or a muzzleloader tag on the Bittercreek unit this year or an early rifle tag in the next couple years. The early rifle would certainly improve your odds of finding a 350" bull. Our website is www.huntwithgtoutfitters.com you can find more info there or by contacting us.

The Manti is also a decent option as it holds a large number of elk and is a big unit to enjoy. Good luck on your decision, no matter what you choose you should have a great hunt in the next few years.

This is TJ, i am the owner of Bull Peak Outfitters. The Dutton Early Rifle would be a great hunt. I am located in Circleville Utah. I can see the Dutton from my house and its a Unit i love to hunt. You should not have a problem killing 350 or bigger. Check out our website www.bullpeakoutfitters.com You can contact me if you need any other information

Dutton Early, with a guide..?? Um, yeah, I think you could get a 350" bull...

A good guide on Manti should be able to swing you a 350 bull. I know one guy that only guides a few hunts a year that kills it on Manti. I would say ditto on Dutton, Book Cliffs, etc.
