Harvest Objective Bear Tag

OK i decided to buy one of these tags just for an excuse to get out in the mountains... I was talking to my 16 year old daughter last night and I mentioned that I bought this tag... She replies that would be fun to hunt bear... Now keep in mind I have been trying to get her to take hunter safety for quite a few years now with no luck do to her extremely busy softball schedule...

Two years ago I mentored my doe antelope tag to her and we had great time... She got buck fever worse than anyone I've seen before, she killed her doe at 300yds. I was so pumped for her...

Anyhow sorry for the rambling but I decided I am going to mentor this tag to her... With that being said I'm going to take this far more serious than I would if it were for me... I'm going to be concentrating on the Avintaquin mostly, and a little effort in 9 mile... Anyone out there have any info that they wouldn't mind sharing?

Hunt it every year since they offered it Tough hunt. Most years can't get in to even hunt. You can take sleds in on top, but not where the bears are.

Yes you can... Page #12 of the bear regs is where you'll find it...

I could be wrong but I don't think the mentor program works for bears. I believe they are not considered big game.

You can now mentor any tag in Utah to a youth with the exception of Swan & Sandhill crane tags because they are under Federal management.
