Bookcliffs South Antelope

I had a friend draw a bookcliffs south archery antelope tag and he doesn't know much about the hunt. We are hoping to get some info on some locations of some guzzlers and water holes so we know where to start scouting for his hunt. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Buy a small buck decoy too. Comes in handy if you get rain as the waterhole won't work if there are puddles.

You have your work cut out.The F-N wild horses will drain the guzzlers in two days if they are in the area.So its a spot and stock hunt unless you can find water with no horses around.

Thankfully there aren't wild horses on the Book Cliffs south. They are a major problem on the North slope, but that's another conversation. There are goats scattered across the entire south unit from the CO border to Green River. There are a few guzzlers but the majority are a little higher elevation than the goats hang. Check out Google earth and you will find pond locations. Right now most ponds will be dry and the antelope will be more concentrated in areas with good water but the late July monsoons will fill the ponds and the animals will disperse again. Good luck.
