Turkey hunting with a rimfire

That could be fun . Fall Turkey hunting with a 22 or 17 rim fire rifle. Maybe I could get my 16 year old daughter out for that.

Well technically we don't call it a CT or 408 Cheytac . Bill Ritchie is turning over in his grave. He really didn't like those other guys. So we just call it a 408 Windrunner. ??

I am not for the rim fire for turkey. Got it done in the fall 2 years in a row with a shotgun and my daughter who is now 6 by my side. Not that we are great but goes to show you that just getting out you can get it done. I hope they make everyone where orange now.

I didn't think about the orange deal, BUT if a rifle is being used My guess they should have it on.

Rifles only require orange when a Center fire hunt is going on. Rim fires are a completely different weapon and orange is not required and it's stupid to hope for such a thing

Right, because so many rabbit hunters are killed by rim fires when they aren't wearing orange. I guess it will be the same way for turkey hunters.

Bill passed before thanksgiving 2016. I was lucky enough to see him the year before and gets some work done on my rifle. We stopped by on one of our trips to Sedona. His son is still building rifles.

It kind of seems like a poachers weapon. Out there hunting with a 22 rimfire. Do you think I should take my pop can off the end of the barrel or just leave it on for the turkey hunt ?
