I have been scouting for a few weeks for the general archery buck tag and have found a few bucks that I would love to take with my bow. I've been seeing the bucks a little lower than I expected though and was wanting to get some input from people who might have scouted/hunted the area more than I have.

Are these deer already in their summer hangouts or are they still working their way up the mountain? I also was curious what kind of hunting pressure this area gets? Are there a lot of people hiking these trails (hunting or otherwise) during the hunt?

I can find my own areas to hunt, it would just be nice to know more about the people situation once opening day comes around and people's thoughts on whether the bucks are settled into their summer hangouts yet.

I have hunted it in the past and am hunting it again this year. Where I hunt on it the deer that I have scouted should in the same area that they are now during the hunt. At least when I have hunted it in the past by now most the bucks stuck around till they have went hard horned.
 
IMHO they are in their summer range now. The areas won't change until the velvet comes off.

As for people, public land will have people no matter if it is hunters or other recreationalists.

Thanks for the help guys! I guess I will just wait and see on the people. I haven't seen a single person yet past the trailheads up there, so I was hopin I'd get more of the same during the hunt!
 
I'm in a different unit but my experience has shown that the bucks I see now, for the most part, aren't the same deer I'll see a month from now. I'm hunting around 9000? though, and my favorite spot is kind of in the middle of the migration path, so that probably explains why the deer I'm seeing now move on to somewhere else
