Youth duck hunt

Anyone go out on the northern youth duck hunt if so how was it ? Wasn?t able to go due to my son starting his first little league football game at QB

It was great. Tons of birds. I'm guessing the lack of water had the birds concentrated. My son had his limit in about 20 minutes. He shot his first drake pintail and drake widgeon. A big shout out to Ben Rendon and his dog Drake!

I wanted to get my youngest out for her first duck hunt. But my dog is at the trainer and only nine months old . She is sixteen so I am not sure if she is still a youth Hunter next year. With my past dog the youth hunts where the best. Watch the kids excitement and working the dogs is the best part of the hunt.

It's a youth for 17 as well if she turns 18 after Aug 1st. It's a blast. Took my youngest son when he was 11, two years ago and loved it.

We took 4 boys out to Farmington. I had 2 boys of my own. It wasa great time. The legal shooting time was 6:45, but by 6:18 (STILL WAY TOO DARK) the shooting started. And by 6:35, it was a war zone. We waited until 6:45. We try and teach the boys to follow the laws and rules set. And then the garbage we found was awful. We picked up 2 plastic bags of garbage in 1 spot left from last year. People disgust me sometimes.

All the boys got 2 or 3 birds, and we got 1 goose.
