Hello fellow MMers. Hope all is well. I am working on a project and am in need of 10-12 really good photos of bucks you have harvested on the Vernon unit. I don't care what year they were taken I just need them clean and nice. If I choose to use your photo in exchange for you allowing me to use it for my project I will give you a $25 gift card to Sportsman's Warehouse. Please submit the photo or Photos to

[email protected]

Include your name and cell number and mailing address. Once the photos are chosen I will contact you for a release and permission on your photo and mail you your gift card.

Thanks for the consideration.

Hey...I have hunted Vernon before. What is the purpose of your "project". I'd love to send you the pictures. Thanks.

Curious as to what the project is as well. Have lots of pictures of bucks from the past 20 years. But leery about sharing them without more info. Thanks

Thanks for asking to clarify.

I put on The Big Outdoors Expo in Orem every MArch at UVU and I am looking at having some Vernon deer vouchers available for drawing at the show. So I am wanting some photos to help promote it.

Thanks

Haha this is the epitome
of what is wrong with Utah we solicit to exploit for the almighty $$$....Why not put those vouchers back into the regular draw along with all the other 100's of tags that have been taken from the general public to be auctioned or sold off? If you do that then I might attend your Big Outdoor Show....just a thought

Bocephus, I appreciate your opinion but you dont even understand what I am doing with them apparently so your statement is in ignorance to my project. Would love to have you attend if you would like and participate in a great show. If not good luck with your endeavors.

I am excited for another good year at the Expo. My boys love going to this every year. I will see if I can even go get some of that free ice cream that is handed out every year. Thats the best part :)

Thanks for clarifying, Tony.

If it's not about money and raffling off tags that belong in the general public draw then please enlighten me. That sure seems to be how you explained it? If my memory serves me correctly you used to advocate against raffle/auction tags? Can't beat'm join'm....????

I never wanted all the expo tags and auctions tags to go away. I wanted the money accounted for. So your memory is a bit clouded. But we are all entitled to how we feel about process. The joy is we all have freedom of association. So if you dont like what I am doing you can choose to not participate.

I wish you well in your endeavors.

Tony.

We all know who was at the forefront of the $fw debacle, YOU. We know you dislike the way it is handled now, but its not out of line to be cautious about shows with tags given you personally helped usher in the current deal with $fw.

So, how about enlightening us about WHERE this money would go from your voucher deal. If its legit, then shine some light on it, guys will get on board.

Its not personal, but with the 100' s of tags floating around shows and banquets, its our right to know. They are a public resource.

As long as everyone stays civil on this thread Im ok with it... I have enough trouble out of the political forum guys.

I want to thank everyone for being civil.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-05-19 AT 05:45PM (MST)[p]There are 5 types of permits in Utah and each has its own set of rules.

Limited Entry Draw permits
CWMU permits
Convention Permits
Conservation Permits
Landowner permits

On occasion there are some other depredation permits

The Public has the opportunity to Draw permits in all of the first 4 listed permit pools.
The do not have the opportunity to draw Landowner permits.

Landowner permits are given to offset the cost of wildlife on landowners property so the Landowner can do as they please with the permits. All the other permits have very distinct rules.
Now many of you dont like any the CWMU, Convention or Conservation permits a you believe they are taking them away from the public. At face value they are but that is for another topic as it is much more complex than that.

Landowner permits DO NOT come at the expense of the general public draw. These permits are for compensation purposes that get no special season dates to hunt and must be hunted during the regular season Limited entry seasons.

These are the tags that I will be giving away at my expo. NONE of them have ever been in the public draw nor will they ever be in the public draw. They are a completely different program that the general public never had access to through any draw.

In conjunction with my expo ALL of the public will have access to draw one of more of these tags if they decide to participate. In other words instead of these permits going to the highest bidder you will all have an equal chance to draw one if you desire.

Again if you don't choose to participate that is your choice. All I am doing is giving people another chance to draw a great tag and hunt in Utah when otherwise they would not have the chance at these permits.

Hope to see you all at the expo and stay tuned for details on these permits as info will be made available through my website as well as MM.

Have a great holiday season.

See. Shine a light, it is shown to be legit. Good job not getting offended and just answering the question.

Good luck at your show!

Seems like it is designed to get more money for the tags. Its a smart business move...say 300 or 400 for some great pics might pull in that extra thousands $ in revenue.

I sure wish there were more tags in the draw. I would pay more than the $10 per species every year if $ is king in utah
I would do 50. Wondering if it would matter. I just want a chance without going broke.
