Hello everybody well I am going to hold my hand out and see if I can get some help from everyone out there. First off I am a mule deer hunter through and through, I love those big old muleys. but I have killed my fair share of big muleys and now I want to try my hand at getting a whitetail. I would like to get my first whitetail in my home state of wyoming but am open to traveling. I am looking for some private land to hunt on that won't brake the bank. I will gladly pay a trespass fee or some other fee. I just don't want to shell out thousands of dollars. I would also be up for swapping something, I live in southwest wyoming. I am up for any and all ideas. Thanks to all of you and I appreciate everything.
Mike

If you want to shoot a whitetail in Wyoming, head to the northeast (Wyoming Black Hills) part of the state. There is a fair amount of public land and some great bucks, if you can find them. Most of the bucks seem to be 1 1/2 years old.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-09-08 AT 07:24AM (MST)[p]Mike, i don't know what you're budget is, but i work for an out fitter in Idaho, and you can get a 5-day hunt, food and lodging, average Whitetail 135, with 170 taken last year, for $3800.00.you also can add a Muley average 160, with 201 taken last year for another $1000.00. You can also E-mail me at bco [email protected]

Wy. has gotten a lot of attention the last few years but i would look at Montana. The river bottoms hold some nice bucks!!

im assuming that killing a whitetail in wyoming would mean no mule., so if you could afford it, id head north and check out the area along the yellowstone in montana. if you can get on somewhere you can get into some monsters.

i live up in the northern part of wyoming and most of the whitetails stay on private, at least the smart big bucks. but there is lots of walk in areas but usaully crowded. but a lot of the farmers will let you hunt. good luck to ya.
