I had this big 6 point come into my salt lick yesterday. I initially saw the first picture, and thought, "big buck". Then he turned and I saw the lack of points. I can't decide whether I would be willing to burn a tag on him if he walked by during the season. I don't want him breeding, but I've seen bigger bucks out there. I also realized I had a picture of him from last year. He is almost identical, only longer and more mass.

Would you shoot him?

I don't think that I've ever seen a big 6 point like that. I have seen some huge forked muleys but not whiteys. I would shoot him just to get him out of the gene pool but he would definately go on the wall.

It's always an adventure!!!

I think I have lots of pictures of its twin!!! I am trying hard to pattern him for the WI opener 9/13, I think he stands a great chance for P&Y. I have pictures of him from the last 3 years, always a six.
I will email you a few pictures since I have no idea how to post them.

A scoring question: Do you still get 4 mass measurements on this buck? I was thinking you do(divide from the g2 to the end of the main beam to determine were to take the measurements. I am trying to guess as to what the 6 point I want to shoot will score and if he will make P&Y. Not that it truly matters what he will score as I am going to shoot him given the chance.

To shoot or not depends on your goals. Are you trying to get some great bucks on your propety in the years down the road? If so then yes or have someone else or their kid come in and try and get him for you, that way you aren't using your tag on him. If not then wait and try for one of the bigger bucks you have seen.

Best of luck either way.
