Last year i joined the navy and am now stationed in virginia. having moved from colorado i've always hunted mule deer before now and i'm going to bow hunt on one of the bases out here this year. what are some of the tactics and tips that someone swithching from hunting muley's in the rockies to whitetails out east needs to know to be succesfull?

I like to situate myself between bedding and feeding areas. Make sure you can enter and exit without disturbing much. I'd say you will probably need a treestand or ground blind but it's not necessary if you prefer to hunt on the ground spot and stalk, it will just be very difficult.

set up on a nice trail and hunt the does...the bucks will eventually come.

Hunt with the wind in your face, hunt a pince point during the pre-rut time and if the bucks are looking hold on...........

Basically what everyone has said so far is right on. Also, if you can hunt during the rut it will be one of your best chances to nail a big buck. It's just about the only time a big buck becomes a dumb buck. Use a grunt tube and try grunting every once in a while and wait. Usually if there is a buck in the area he will come and look for a hot doe being chased.
