South Dakota Buck

I had the chance to hunt up in South Dakota during the week of Thanksgiving. I took the family along for the hunt. It was a 15 hour ride from our house to the hotel where we planned on staying. The kids handled the ride quite well as did the wife. We saw lots of bucks in the three days that we had to hunt. I finally found a buck that would hold still long enough to shoot. The kids got to see the whole thing unfold. They loved every minute of it. The morning I killed my buck it was 9 degrees. This is my best whitetail to date. Lots of good memories with the wife and kids.

Hey wackandstack!
Nice buck! I know what you mean about finding one that will stand still long enough to shoot. I have hunted SD twice before and never got a single shot at a standing whitetail! Headed out there again this afternoon from Washington, 17 hours! Hope to get a good one this year! Any advice?

Well Highcountry, We hunted up around Lemmon and saw alot of deer. They were hanging out in the agriculture areas. If its windy they dont stay out much, But if its cold and cloudy they stayed out alot longer. Good luck
