LAST EDITED ON Jan-02-13 AT 10:43AM (MST)[p]I am from back east and enjoy Whittail hunting a great deal. I would like to get back into hunting whitetails again, espically since Mule Deer hunting in Northern Utah on public land is down right now. Is their any areas in the states of Wyoming or Idaho that have decent deer hunting with public access. I am curious about Northern Idaho and just how bad the deer numbers are down due to the wolf issues their. Any help here would be appreciated, I am not asking for anyones secret spot. So dont freak out please!!

Lots of whitetails in eastern Colorado. Unit 102, 103 and 109 and 117 produce book heads. 103 is almost all public land and takes several preference points. The rest of the units are private but permission on the smaller ranches is pretty easy to get. Also look at the numerous SWA along Hwy 50 along the Arkansas. Pm if your interested in more info.

>+1 Northern Idaho. Check out the

There's no more deer in that area.

There is a lot of private land and Indian res. land up the Clearwater river canyon. Get up out of the river valley on top and there is a lot more public/private lands(Potlach) to hunt. like any where on OTC hunts there can be a lot of pressure but hunting can be good. Montana has good whitetail hunting also so don't over look that option.
