Just got done with my whitetail hunt and saw something that was a little unusual. I was setting on a big dirt mound by a pond glassing. About 400 yards away I see a nice buck....MAKING A SCRAPE..it is September 18th....this guy was horney as all get out! After he pawed the ground a lot and urinated in the area he licked an overhead branch and then...he took on a sapling that had blown over. It looked to be about 25' long, no leaves or branches and anchored on one end and about 4" 5" in diameter. He proceeded to beat the tar out of that thing. He would toss it in the air, push it like another buck..very aggressively. This went on for about 15 minutes and with the sapling defeated he wandered off onto the neighbor's. That night about 10 PM he shows up on my trail camera by the pond....less most of his right antler. The brow tine and 1st point were there. He went from a nice 10 point to a unusual 7 point. I sure enjoyed watching him. I got a good 8 point and saw a ton of deer and turkeys.

Wow grear story....crazy buck will be back same area next year...whitetails are creatures of habit. Hope you get him next year.....
