Iowa Zone 7/8 compared to Zone 4?

I've hunted Iowa zone 4 three times, all DIY public land. Initially, it took 2-3 years for a NR to draw that tag. Looks like it will take 4-5 years now. Considering other zones, specifically 7 and 8.

Anybody on here hunted both? Would you hold out for 4? Or hunt more frequently? Any comments or suggestions that might swing me one way or the other?

Thanks.

How much public is in zone 7 and 8 and how many points are required? I Hunted zone 5 archery one year on private, God's country for whitetails. I'm thinking the same you are, trying west side of state public, everyone wants to hunt SE corner. Friend of mine lives in Iowa told me to hunt the easier to draw units and hunt more often I suggest you do the same!!! how did you do in zone 4?
