Marine looking for Arkansas whitetail

I just got stationed in Little Rock and heard a lot about whitetail hunting in Arkansas but don't know anywhere to go. I've never hunted whitetail, I grew up hunting in Nevada and other western states. Could someone help out and possibly give me an area of where to go?

check out Lake Degray. did you look into the left over wma tags yet?
Float the Buffalo river and if you can weed thru the elk there are some nice one's there also.

I'm way down in the SW corner, most stuff down here and the east against the Mississippi river is private or leased from the big timber companies. I have private land but I have 3 family members that hunt it also and it is only 460 acres. After we take 6 deer we stop hunting it and hunt Sulfer River WMA.

Let me do some more research and see what I can suggest... first off do you want archery, muzz or rifle season? or all 3?

Yep... I suggest Degrey lake, just need your license and a general WMA permit,,, 3 point rule (has to have 3 points on one side), limit of 4 deer only 2 can be bucks.

You have to think more along the line of antelope hunting in the way of a blind or stand set up, you can try still hunting but you can not see more than 30 or 40 yards...plus everyone will be in stands and it is public land so you would just push the deer to someone in a stand...

I have a SQUID nephew getting out of the Navy Nov 12th after his 20 so will be busy getting him settled into civilian life during the rifle hunt (Squids are so inconsiderate, that's as bad as getting married or having a child's BD during the deer rut...)
