Nebraska

Well here it is near the end of August. I thought I had 2 hunts lined up for a Nebraska hunt. The first one, I was going to be in a group who were returning to a ranch the group has hunted for five years. That fell through when one guy stayed with the group. My second plan fell through when the property sold. Can anyone help me out with any leads? I would prefer to hunt rifle season, and not on public land. I'd rather hunt deer, and not see a sea of orange. I would look at a trespass fee if needed.

I'm open for anywhere I can get a tag. I'll be going at it solo. I'm the guy whose friends always says I can't this year, but I'm in next year. 25 yrs later, I'm still waiting for them. A couple of years ago, I said the hell with it and went to Canada. Found a great outfitter, and got lucky to knock a spot on my bucket list knocked off.

I'm now looking for another place. I've heard the best hunting is on private land. Public land in Michigan is so hit and miss, with lots of orange everywhere.

I fully understand. I couldn't get anyone interested in an elk hunt for years. Then I finally went on an outfitted hunt as a single hunter. Had a blast. Also can't seem to get it through to many of my east coast friends that if you want to hunt the west, you gotta plan for it. Yes, there are lots of OTC tags, but there are also several that require points. I started buying points in AZ, CO, and WY a few years ago. Hoping to start cashing them in soon, and likely going alone.

I've also bow hunted Iowa several times as a NR. What used to be a every 2nd or 3rd year tag has turned into an every 4th or 5th year tag.

Like I said about Nebraska, the place I turkey hunt was covered up with whitetail. I don't think it gets much pressure. But then again, that area isn't known for its trophy deer.

If you have any more questions, let me know.
