Area 25,26 muzzleloader

A friend of mine drew area 25, 26 muzzleloader and I'm going to Colorado next week to do some scouting for him and myself. I drew 43 and already have a spot there. We'll be helping each other out. Starting with his area then mine. He's old and I have a bad wheel, so we're not looking to hunt too far in, 2 or 3 miles at most. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for your hot spot, just a decent area to camp/start scouting. I'm up on Nevada area 10 for deer and snowcocks, areas 6 & 7 for deer and elk. BIG elk in 6. Nevada 12,13,14 for antelope & Wyoming unit G for deer. Willing to trade info if necessary. Feel free to PM me.

I have been up around cresent and mackinaw lakes many times and only seen moose. Never any elk or deer and not much sign.

Did you do any good? I have a 2nd season buck tag but haven't had a chance to get up there yet. I hate going in cold but that's the way the cards fell this year.

Beautiful country. Lots of other hunters though. Didn't see a lot of bucks but did see a few and he had a couple opportunities but didn't kill one. We did see lots of Elk. Next time, I'd focus on getting in wilderness area.
