Unit 67 2nd season deer

I have a unit 67 2nd season deer tag. I have never been in the unit. I will be getting to the unit a couple of days before season starts to do a little scouting and to get familiar with the area the best I can. Any info that anyone is willing to share is much appreciated. PM works best for me.

I've been hunting around Powderhorn and have only been seeing small bucks and lots of does. I don't think the warm weather is helping. Anyone have any places they think might hold a good buck?

Hey Tagsoup,
I wish I would noticed your post earlier. How did your hunt go? My son Alex had a tag. This is his first buck! I had to work on Saturday, so we didn't leave SLC until 9pm on Saturday. We got to Gunnison around 3:30am, slept until 6 and he had the buck down by 8am. It was the first buck we saw. I have hunted the unit before and knew this was a good buck. We were able to spot it from the road and he made a great 200 yard shot. Pretty fun walking up to it and watching his face as the buck grew quite a bit. His buck is much larger than the buck I took on the unit last year. Pretty excited for him. I'm guessing the buck is right around 175. He has great eye guards and is heavier than any buck I've ever taken. His first mass measurement is 5' 4/8th. I hope your hunt was as fun. Only wish I would have seen your post. We could have met up or something...fstop.
