LAST EDITED ON Sep-26-16 AT 06:26PM (MST)[p]The list for this week's returned tags is VERY small compared to all the previous weeks. A handful of elk only tags. Just seems weird and makes me wonder is there is some mistake.

Could be right the 30 day window is all but closed on third and fourth season tags. Most guys are keeping those late season deer tags due to the dates being the latest they will be for the next five years

Actually, this week should include 2nd, 3rd and 4th season tags. There were NO deer tags turned back in?? Seems pretty weird

I called DOW and asked if there was a problem with the list. The person I spoke to said they asked the same question and were assured the list is correct as posted.

There were a ton of elk and deer tags on last weeks list. I suspect it is the last good one for this year. Like I said I think a lot of people are keeping there 3rd and 4th season deer tags because of the late dates.

Most people who would be turning their tags in would have done so already. Only ones being turned in now at this point will be for emergencies...

Early ones are for too many tags, job/family changes etc... most of that happens earlier cause more time obviously from app time to august.

We'll find out next week!

I am guessing that they didn't process most this week because someone was out of the office...perhaps hunting!

I realize that the number is going to decrease week to week, but when it is more than 50 tags every week up until this week and this week it is 3...seems to me like they just didn't get processed in time to get on the list. If we have 50 next week, we'll know. If it is only a handful again than mntman is correct.

I think they want to sell what is on the leftover before posting the returned tags, I am thinking we will see more on the list next week...hope to get a deer tag next week since I have not been able to since early August.

With the rule of having to turn your tag back in 30 days prior to the hunt start date does anyone understand how there were archery tags still poping up on the reissue list through mid september?

I'm just wondering if the same thing is going to happen with the rifle tags.

First of all, they are not necessarily processing the tags in a weeks time. My wife had to turn a tag back in, and it was 2 weeks later it showed up on the list. Also, I think you can exchange tags within that 30 day window.

I read it the same way. You can still turn a tag back in, just not receive points or money back. I am stuck I need to swap my 1st season elk for an OTC for 3rd. The way I read it, I can still do so, but I end up not getting my refund. Since it was a second choice tag I did not loose my points.

You don't get a refund anyway if you swap. You guys are correct. Licenses can be swapped right up until the beginning of the season. That's how they are ending up on the list so late.

I called about this and was told basically it may take them several weeks to process returned tags even thought the 30 day window is over

>Ok guys I give how do
>you see this list{ find
>it thanks}

Monday after 3pm go to the g&p website and click on reissue list.

Pretty obvious there was something wrong with the list last week too.

Kind of frustrated with the system. Twice now we had tags confirmed on the CPW website and twice now upon checking out with the credit card after entering all the CC info we hit enter and get a message saying they are all sold out. Not sure if this is right or not. Seems you would be allowed time to enter payment information. Anyone else experience this?

Yes I had the same thing. Took all my info with C/C hit pay and said sold out. If it was sold out why take all the info? Kind of confusing.

Okay, The reason you get tags in your cart and then get rejected is you are too slow paying! It is basically a free for all for those tags! Whoever has their payment in first wins! It is very advantageous for them to already have your info so you can just submit payment. If you have bought from them before and are paying with same card you can pay much quicker than someone first timing or using new payment method. This is the first year for this and is a learning curve for all involved. It is one of the issues I was told would probably be rectified before next year, but for now, it is what it is!

I didn't think you could purchase these on line. I went down to the DOW office and bought one for my wife. I think you can buy them at the counter before they are available on line.

I don't think this is true, I have tried that trick and my card was not saved. Pretty sure the issue is that there are 1000s of people trying for the same tag and it is just who is the fastest/luckiest on when they refresh...pretty sure they will be changing this next year.

Only the very first time do they need to be bought in person or on the phone. Everytime after that they are all fair game at 9 a.m on Tuesdays. I picked up a premium elk tag a few weeks back online, but I did miss out on some before that even had them in my cart. I think they should go to the Wyoming system where if you are quick enough to get it in your cart then you get an allocated amount of time to complete the transaction before it goes back for sale.

I like it the way it works now. Gives me a nice adrenaline rush while I'm fumbling around trying to enter my credit card number. Lol

Can you log into your profile before 9 am and be able to select a tag or do you have to completely log in and select a tag after 9?

The former

Yep, I had all my info entered before 9 and it kept saying not available. Then, suddenly it was and began to enter my info. I thought like you that once it was in my cart I was in line. However, I entered and then double checked my number and when I hit submit, it said sold out. Won't make that mistake again.

for those who have been monitoring the list, are numbers still down from when this originally posted?

Last week there were three total licenses on the list. This week there was over 7 pages of licenses, and many hunt codes had multiple licenses available.
