I purchased a tag for the 3rd season rifle, private land. The season dates this year run a little later than typical, Nov 5th-13th. The ground we are hunting is down around Cortez. I am going to wait and arrive around the 8th and hunt the last 5 days. Are doe's starting to cycle by the 2nd week in Nov? What can one expect during the 1st couple weeks of Nov?
 
What unit and where do you have access? Lots of deer on private near Utah that time of year
 
Hunted 3rd season in southwest Colorado quite a bit, and the rut activity is typically minimal, although it varies from year to year.
 
Almost as late as the season can be for 3rd season dates this year, figured that was a good reason to pick up a 3rd season tag.

yep, I would not expect to see full on rut but will be pre-rut period for sure.

Good luck BeastN! I will be next door hunting 771/77/78 third season. I too am
Hoping for some rut action this year with the later dates. While this is a new area for me, I suspect the weather and snow will have great impact on where the deer are. Let's hope for a little weather to shake things up a bit. Good luck!
 
I've hunted near that area in 3rd season the last 2 years. The bucks we've seen weren't quite chasing does at the time, but I'm hoping these dates will help that this year. I'll be across the highway in unit 72 this year.
