Hello m.m. friends . I've never posted in this state before but figured I'd reach out. I have undergone 2 sergeries since May, and am possibly facing a third on the near future. I had to give up my Gila elk tag(I'm a n.m. resident ) this year due to these darn surgeries. I'm curious if your state offers any over the counter deer opportunities that would be worth the drive ,so I might possibly get to hunt something as my January tag hangs in the balance . In no way am I looking for anyone's best spot, just a yes-no and possibly a unit . If anyone would care to help I'd appreciate it. Thank you, god bless.

There are no OTC deer tags. However, there are some leftovers for sale that you can buy online:

Click on the leftover list to see what is currently available. Anything on that list can be bought 24 hours/day online.

Every Monday at 3 pm they post a list of all the new tags that have been turned back in for the last week and you can have a shot at them if you are fast on your computer and are lucky. At 3 pm tomorrow click on Preview leftover tags for that list, but they won't be available until Tuesday at 9 AM sharp.

There are OTC elk tags that can be picked up in any Wally world
