I just picked up this tag and was wondering if someone could help with a few starting spots.

Go out east of Dolores and have a map for the area and turn on road going up to Taylor Mesa. Worked good for my buddy and I during the same time frame and he got a nice 6x6 coming up out of a ditch area and going up to top of mesa. His belly was full of water and feed, Made for good sliding back down the hill side on the snow to road. Gutted the bull on the ledge above the road and then dragged it down to ground and loaded it in the back of PU and headed to meat shop.

How did you do. I just returned from there with my deer tag still in my pocket. Took me 8 yrs to get it..
Weather was not the greatest but I did manage to see 8 bucks. Non were big enough for the ride back to PA.

I know that. I was asking the OP how he did because the people I talked to in Dolores indicated not very much activity during third season. I was related my experience during 4th season with only a deer tag. Jeeeesh?

It was a bad year I seen maybe 2 bucks that would of went 170. and the bucks i seen in the back of trucks weren't what you would expect from a 4 season tag.
