Unit 2 Muzzy Deer

Looking at Unit 2 for this years muzzy hunt. I understand the quality has come down some but during my last two elk hunting there I have seen some pretty good bucks. Looking for something in the 180's. Thoughts?

What years were your last 2 elk hunts? Were they muzzleloader as well?

If you've got some 180's bucks all scouted up I'd say go for it. It's just alot of points for an average unit. IMO

Tracker12 I hunted unit 2 for elk back in 2011 and found a few really nice bucks but mainly found a lot of older age class bucks with poor genetics. There are always some really nice bucks right off douglas blvd but they typically disappear pretty quick. The best bucks I found were up north around lookout mtn.

One good thing about that hunt is you will have the place practically to yourself which can make a hunt a blast.

My same experience. I hunted Wands ranch when I elk hate there. Most of the nice bucks were right off the road during that time. Sure it all changes if you could get the rut tag.

Hey Tracker, just curious if you pulled the trigger on 2....if so Res/ NR, weapon and points you had. I put in and have a feeling 14 NR pts will come up short. I've done a bit of research so contact me to talk about it. Thx Jim
