I am looking to burn my 6 points this year. I have done some research on Units 25, 63 and 68.
It sounds like there are private land issues to get to the majority of the animals in 25 on a 4th season hunt. But, the genetics are there for great bucks. I haven't heard back from the bio to see how the winter was around there.
63 3rd season sounds like without a decent amount of weather up high the hunting can be difficult. A lot of the animals will hang up in the transition area where it is mostly private ground. Also good genetics in this area and with a good weather pattern it could be a fun hunt down lower on the BLM land.
Unit 68 sounds like there are a lot of animals and a ton of public land to hunt. However it sounds like there are very few animals that reach the 170"+ mark because there isn't that great of genetics in the area.
Any info that you might have about these three units, or any other suggestions for burning 6 points would be grateful.
Thanks.
