Can't decide between 53, 54 and 67 3rd season

Any advice on these 3 units would be greatly appreciated, we were originally going to try and draw 55 3rd but after talking with several of the biologists in this area it sounds like unit 55 was hit the hardest this winter. Sounds like significant cuts in tags as well in all of these units...as much as 50% so really will be interesting to see what it will take to draw some of these units now. We were hoping after the tough 2nd and 3rd seasons last year that this would be the year to cash the points in finally, but good old Mother Nature isn't making this decision any easier this year. I am open to any suggestions in other areas as well.

Even though 54 had a tough winter, and if your a trophy hunter, a couple of gorillas made it thru.

53 is an easy choice since it had less winter loss, but everyone knows that. so I'd expect the draw odds to reflect it.

HANDS DOWN 54 IF I HAD THE POINTS, BECAUSE OF THE TOP END POTENTIAL OF AVAILABLE BUCKS. HOW MANY POINTS DO YOU HAVE????............GOOD LUCK .............YD.

We have 12 pts. and looks like we are right there for drawing all 3 units based on last years draw results. Hard to say how it will play out this year with the number of tags they are cutting. I know the whole area had a pretty hard winter, but not as bad as ours here in SW Wyoming, our deer really took a beating and so we were hoping to draw Colorado this year and focus on that hunt more. Thanks for the advice guys.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-02-17 AT 08:08PM (MST)[p]53 can be tough either 2nd or 3rd season, if you get enough weather to get them out of the high country and into the oakbrush zone. There's more oakbrush in 53 compared to 54.

That's exactly what my taxidermist said who hunted it last year and they didn't have the weather for the 3rd season which made it even tougher.

Via an Eastmans email I just received, the CPW just announced they are cutting back the deer tags in the Gunnison basin. Nothing jumped out at me when I checked the CPW website but it may be there somewhere?
