CPW Fee Increase Legislation

If you haven't noticed CPW has been "protesting" in a government fashion around the state causing inconvenience and disruptions in public use at various facilities. Lately its been closures of boat ramps due to lack of funding for Aquatic Nuisance Species. I don't disagree with CPW needing to increase funding and increases to license/permit fees but their present campaign is a smoke screen just to get the public's support through limiting access and use in some areas.

Proposed fee increase legislation.

I see one increase that may actually cost them money. I generally get an annual NR fishing license because I go twice yearly (once in the summer and again to hunt, and I try and fish a day or two then). With the jump to $100, I will just buy the 5 day license and add a day or 2 later if need be, so they will be getting less money from me. Many times I don't, so they will just get my $32 instead of $55

If I read page 10 correctly, when it comes to deer and elk, they are only proposing to increase resident license costs, not nonresident. Stunning!!

My hunting spot is so secret, not even the elk have found it yet.

Colorado: Duh, that is right, I guess it has been a couple of years since I have bought an annual. Good catch

Family: LOL, Residents can ONLY be raised by action of the legislature because it is considered a new "tax", which hasn't happened in how many years?? NR hunting fees ARE raised each and every year tied to a cost of living increase. Apples and oranges.
