Raft/drift boat question

Can't seem to find any info on CO parks and wildlife website about wether or not any type of registration is required to float on CO water? If its non motorized, does one need any type of permit to float a river in CO? Thanks in advance.

Nope, only have to register a boat if it is propelled by a gas or electric motor. Basically if you throw an electric trolling motor or outboard on your drift boat/raft to fish stillwater you will have to register it, for floating you will not.

Within Colorado - for the vast majority of the River, you don't need any kind of permit to float. Certain launches require a permit to park and/or launch.

Only the Colorado from Loma to the UT border (Ruby/Horsethief canyons) requires a permit (also Gates of Lodore on the Green River)
