left over tags

Out of curiosity...do i get just my point (and money) if i turn my tag in. I have the info in my huntin fool mag but cant find it.
Also, it took 5 pts so it will fall into the alternate bracket they created this year.
Im not 100 percent, but pretty sure.

If you return your tag you get your money back (minus a $15 processing fee) or your points. Not both. And if you opt to restore your points and sacrifice the money, you get the number of points you had prior to the draw. You don't get an extra one for this year.

I called the CPW and they told me June 26th on both leftover and reissued licenses if I,m wrong on info. so be it .I,m just relaying what I was told

Isn't the part about "Internet sales start on midnight of the 2nd" referring to leftovers and not returned?

LAST EDITED ON Jun-06-17 AT 09:05PM (MST)[p]Steve,

You may be thinking of the leftover draw which you can be included in if you were not successful AND check the box to be included in the leftover draw, they get first choice on leftovers. Hope to see you around the fouth.

orionthehunter , sure glad to see your able to help a guy out. I,m still a little confused what the girl at cpw was reffering to that went on sale on june 26

Seriously no leftover list preview? I guess as a NR I won't be making a drive and sitting in line.....or is that a "benefit" to no preview list. Guess I'll stick with the 800 number.

Email from a CPW employee: Hey cousin Joe, we are going to list a primo elk tag at 2 this afternoon!!

This is going to throw some guys into a tizzy, espically if they didn't get a tag this year, thinking they could pick up a good one by spending the night at Wally world.

venor, ergo sum (I hunt, therefore I am)

You can stand in line, but for what? No preview list then the clerk will have scroll thru whats available and by then, they are probly gone. All 5 point or greater unit tags go to next on the draw process list, doubt many of those will trickle down to the leftover list. Still some nice tags will be available, just no the number or quality like last year.
