Has anybody scouted 61 this year?

I managed to pick up a leftover Bear Tag for unit 61 just curious if anybody has seen any maybe give me some places to start looking I hope to be able to make it out this weekend to do a little scouting but have work and after that I have Antelope tag to startchasing after

i would look into the tabaguache basin area.....always bears in there.

Thanks that will a place I will definitely look at. I have hunted 62 last yr never thought I would be hunting the other side of the road so never really explored it. I'm hoping I'll get out there Sunday

I looked on the North end on 8/07. There are no acorns or manzanita berries this year. Saw very little bear sign. I think if you can find the serviceberry or chokecherry there will be bear. Maybe the acorns did better further south in the unit.

There were plenty of acorns in the mid to southern part of 61 early in the year. I haven't been up recently.

I scouted 61 with my brother last weekend. The south end had bear tracks at every water hole.

On July 4th I was up there , saw few cows and couple bulls , nothing huge around windy point area .
