Muzzy 21 Info please

I received a phone message Friday afternoon saying someone turned there 21 muzzy tag back and I have until Monday afternoon to let them know if I want it. So I'm trying to gather as much info as I can right know. So any help and info would be appreciated main concerns are there still some quality bucks left I know it's not what it use to be, and with this heat and drought any possible unit closure, please feel free to PM if you would like.

Ive seen 2 different people get 21 muzzy tags on the leftover list, It only took 4 points for a Resident to get the tag, you shouldnt be getting a call saying you are next in line.

That being said, the area is not in a drought, we have had a good amount of rain out there. As far as quality you will find lots of 150-160 bucks.

It looks like 9 of 10 drew with 4 resident points, so you needed 5 to guarantee you draw out. I am guessing that is how they are deciding on offering it up or not.

I bought the tag good or bad its about the only good hunt I have this year. Talking with the game department the only NR draw turned his tag back in he drew with 7 if I understood right I was next in line with 6 point followed by my father if I turned it down. Supposably this is a new process there doing this year this is all to new to me so don't shoot the messager

. If anyone is willing share a little info it would be greatly appreciated.

Good numbers of deer, there is some higher ground on the south-southeast side but the deer can be spread throughout the unit, even on the earlier hunts. Lots of roads and often times the best strategy is just to cover ground. Hit as many glassing points as possible.
Good luck and keep us posted. I've got a second season rifle tag so I'll be curious on how you did and what you saw.

Hitting the road today should be scouting by tomorrow afternoon. Was hoping it would cool down about 10 degree but that the way the dice roll . I threw my bow in just in case I fill my buck tag and decide to chase elk might as well enjoy my vacation.

Well it was a great trip and so some awesome country and I met some great people along the way . I wasn't able to seal the deal on the big four point buck that completely screwed me on a daily basis in the aspen thickets but was able take this buck on my last day.

We saw probably 20-25 different bucks in a week hunt with one being a complete stud. I promised moosie a little intel due to he threw me a bone prior to leaving but I will say hunting aspen is a challenge in my book ?
