Was able to get this guy at 9:30 opening morning. I've been watching him for the last two months. Got him about 200 yards from where I first spotted him in July

Got him back last week. Awesome job by Todd down at Real Wilderness Taxidermy in Poncha Springs

Scored 179 and 6/8ths and 26 inches wide.

Beautiful buck and mount. Is that the original cape? Looks like he used someone elses cape off a deer that was killed in October.
Either way it looks awesome on the wall

Yeah, I short-caped the deer by only an inch or two. We were in a rush, we knew where another big buck was at and were able to close the deal that evening on the other one.

That original summer cape was awesome. I'm still kicking myself for being careless.

Thats his gross score. Net, he is 170 and change. The big deduction was his left front fork. The right side is huge, the left side is weak. Also his mass measurement on the G2 on the right is weak.....lots of mass but has a pretty skinny spot that you have to use for scoring.
