I use to hunt Colorado when it was over the counter for rifle deer. Id like to hunt mule deer there in 2018 but have never put in for the draw.I'll be 64 by the time hunting reason rolls around but I can still get around. I can't wait to accumulate 10 years of points so I was wondering if there are any good units....for big deer...that a guy can possibly draw without any points. I have Eastmans book on all the draw odds but very difficult to really decipher.
Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S I use to hunt the Disappointment valley area but I guess thats a pretty hard draw for the late hunt.

Hummmm. A good unit...for big deer...without any points? Now that would be somethin we'd all like to know about!

????????

You're in a tough spot, however, there is hope. Colorado has the potential to produce a big buck in almost any unit. I would do some research on draw odds, there are quite a few units that can be drawn as second choice tags and require zero points. I would find an area that has good genetics, and hopefully terrain that you like to hunt and go for it. A lot to choose from. There are also several good units that take zero to two points, especially if you are willing to hunt second season. Quite a few options, but you will need to do some research to find an area that fits your hunting style.

I know thats a lot to ask but here in Arizona you can still get lucky and draw an area without having to have a minimum of 10 years invested before they even look at you.
I'm also well aware of points don't guarantee anything....I'm up to 24 or 25 points for Antelope here in Az.(
Just thought I'd ask....running out of years to hunt I'm afraid and don't have the big bucks for landowner tags.
