Colorado unit 1 Elk

I was curious if anybody has had any experience hunting elk in unit 1 for the early October hunt? If so what did you think of the unit and quality of bulls there? Also what should i expect as far as elk numbers in the unit and is it worth the points it takes to draw? I am looking at doing a DIY hunt possibly this next fall. I have 18 points going into the draw.I plan on doing as much research as I can and plan on taking as many trips as I can to the unit to help learn about it. If anybody has any experience with the unit and would be willing to share any info i would appreciate it.
