July scouting for 2nd season deer

Has anyone had much luck scouting in June, July, August for a 2nd season mule deer tag? Central to southern part of Colorado is the area. I think a 2nd season tag is pretty darn tough, but I just wondered if you couldn't find a deer to hunt in the summer and with a little luck, he still be in the area. Waste of time or helpful?

I've been watching the weather in this area, and typically everyone is hoping for snow, but it never happens until after all the seasons.

The one I killed in 2016 I found scouting and he was still there. They don't go far. As long as they're still alive, they're there somewhere close.

That will hold in some areas and not in others. They generally won't be above timberline during the second season. So if you find a buck at lower elevation, you would have a better chance than if he were at or above timberline in the summer

Depends upon the unit. Some Central Colo units hardly have any deer in the summer but after snow and the rut kicks in they tend to come out of the wood work. Scouting is always a great idea! You can learn access points, roads, roadless areas, spotting locations, public access....the lists goes on!
