Unit 34 CO 4th Season

Has anyone hunted unit 34 in the 3rd or 4th season over the past couple of years. If so I'd like to get your overall opinion if you're willing to share. Feel free to post mail me.

I have never hunted it myself. Picked up the tag for me an family on 2nd choice multiple times but usually turned it in or burned it to do a conflicting hunt. My cousin has hunted it and I have other friends that have hunted it and have talked to locals about it. You can draw it on a 2nd choice for a reason. There are not that many deer on the unit. There is an occasional big buck killed, but that can be said about any unit in Colorado. Weather can really limit your access. The guys I talk too see 10 to 20 deer a day and a couple young bucks, maybe a 4 point at best. This is just what I have found in my research, someone with boots on the ground in 2017 might have some better info for you. It is an easy tag to get so if someone had a honey hole they will be pretty tight lipped about it.

I kind of figured that it probably wasn't much of a unit if it could be drawn as a 2nd choice. I think you're probably right, it takes a good knowledge of the area or a lot of luck to do well there, which is typical of most units.
just trying to find a late season hunt that I wouldn't have to wait 4-5 years between hunts.
