In an effort to fully vet out areas of interest, I am wondering if this is a decent hunt? I don't expect anyone to jump at giving me specific areas, etc. I am just hoping to get some info on deer densities, access, type of country, etc. Looks like a lot if public land in a fairly small unit. I read somewhere that there aren't a lot of access points though.
Anyway, anything you may have to offer would be appreciated. As I put in another post, we currently have 13 NR points. Thanks!

I have not spent a ton of time in unit 1 but I can give you my general observations of the little time I've been in there. The unit is very remote and arid with no services close by. Camping along with extra fuel will be a necessity. Deer densities are pretty low but there are some good deer. It has more top end potential than 3/301 that your were asking about in the other thread BUT you will probably see more deer in a day in 3/301 than the entire hunt in 1. If you can spend some weekends scouting prior to season it will help tremendously. Again the little time I've spent up there was looking for bulls not deer so Maybe some others can/will chime in and correct me where I'm wrong.

His ideas are absolute correct. Great country. Some public. Tough access. I hunted the muzz hunt this year and it was fun but tough.

I have seen a handful of big bucks in the unit over the years but it's been few and far between. Like others have said before it is a very remote unit as far as services go. Along with access being limited and the unit is notorious for being a poaching hot bed simply because of its remoteness. I honestly think there's better options for your 13 points.
