I have a minor dilemma and I'm looking for thoughts on this years Colorado mule deer hunt. I have enough points to draw unit 70 4th season which I've hunted 3 times previously and had some success. I would probably only be able to scout five days before the hunt. Or I can draw a 4th season 511 tag which I can scout fairly frequently throughout the summer and fall. I've seen and harvested some very nice bucks in unit 70. But being only minutes away from 511 is super enticing. I don't post here very often but have followed and been a member since around 2005. I'd like to hear some thoughts. Thanks in advance.

When was the last time you hunted 70? From what I saw last year during 3rd season and from what I was told by 2 guys that hunted the 4th, it's not worth the points. In the past 3 years, I've been in 4 units chasing deer. I've had a tag each year and helped my brother with his. Three of the units kicked out good bucks, but 70 was a huge disappointment.

I had a cow tag in 4th rifle 70 in the fall of 16 and never saw a decent buck. My friend with a buck tag passed on a 180 type buck, but never saw one better. IF you got a big snow, the trophy potential there is good, but if not..........
