Application process

So my understanding of the pp system is that it is a true pp system when it comes to deer and elk but as far as sheep, antelope, moose and mtn goat it's a pp system with random draw tags ? Am I understanding that correctly ?

It has a random flare to it. Once you have waited points after 3 preference points your application will be signed a random number that number will be divided by the number of weighted points you have giving you your final number. The lowest numbers get the tags. If you get a high random computer-generated number every year you may never draw. If you have one weighted point and get a low computer-generated number you may draw with one weighted point.

So what about moose and mtn goat do you have to have three years of applying before you can possibly draw a tag for them ?
I understand that part of the application process that sheep you have to have three years before you can be in the pool to start or possibly draw I just don't know about moose and mtn goat and could find it in the regs .

There are some ewe, nanny, and cow moose tags that you may be able to draw prior to getting weighted points. But it's rare.

Well thank you everyone for helping understand the system fully I appreciate it. Looks like I will be getting points across the board this year then. Oh well that's fine everyone has to start somewhere.

Just out of curiosity how come you haven't applied until now? Wondering if the new pay structure had any influence.

DW, it did for me, I wasnt about to fork out that much cash and have them sit on it for 3 months.

I put in for everything this year.

Couldn?t afford it to apply for everything and I was always told you couldn't float it on a credit card so now that they changed it I can.

I've been telling people Point creep is going to be a b**** from here on out it's going to go up exponentially!
