Backdoor thoughts

LAST EDITED ON Apr-11-18 AT 07:17PM (MST)[p]It looks like the back door is a thing of the past. Using the spring turkey draw as an example shows that I received the draw result via email on March 1 just like the brochure said. I didn't draw the limited tag but my card was hit on February 28 for the general tag.

Looking at the big game brochure shows a posting date of June 4-8 for elk, deer, bear, moose and antelope. The brochure also clearly states your credit card will be charged between June 4-8 so I don't think they can do it earlier.

Am I missing something or is the back door dead?

LAST EDITED ON Apr-11-18 AT 07:48PM (MST)[p]Should lead to cost savings effiencies but recognizing the CPW for who they are, this will NOT be passed along to the consumer even though they have legislation on the docket to increase fees. My guess is they will not increase field presence even though their earnings will increase. Dam desk jobs in Denver are pricey...

This slight change of date now takes Wyoming Deer/ant out of play and really Idaho too. Guess you just go with what you know at the time.

I said it last year and was totally laughed off the board, but I think Colorado is messing around with Wyoming and is why they are not going to release the draws earlier. They want people that don't draw CO to not be able to draw WY and then go OTC in Colorado for elk. Maybe I am wrong!

You really think they haven't read all the "Back Door" posts in the past ? Yall told them how to stop it.........DUH

Backdoor was a thing of the past as soon as I married her... Still have thoughts though.

I think you are right. Pisses me off! Not sure what to do in Wyoming now!

I don't think they cared that we had a back door. What harm did it do? But they decided to redo/streamline the process of applying and by most accounts, the new system is working pretty well. But by doing so, they eliminated the ability to look up what you had early. Doubt that is why they did it.

They cared. That's why 3 years ago they started making your "current preference points" lookup invisible while the draw was being conducted. Now of course it's no longer an issue because the system is totally revamped. The reason they cared is because so many knot-heads just couldn't resist phoning in to ask if the disappearance of their PP's meant they had drawn. Of course we still had the "Products on File" backdoor. But it appears that one has now been eliminated too.
